3 Ways To Boost Your Confidence Before An Interview

You are on your way to hopefully your last job interview.  You start to feel a sense of anxiety realizing you might not be as prepared as you had hoped.  Don’t worry.  Here are 3 tips we have put together to help you boost your confidence before walking into your interview.

1- Relax: When your body is tense and you can’t relax, everyone knows it.  A good interviewer will know how to bring you back to realism and calm you down, but most of us aren’t that lucky.  You need to find ways to relax.  Before you get out of your car, listen to your favorite song.  Sing along, shrug your shoulders and let it out.  If you are tense when you walk in the door, there is a good chance you won’t have good communication.

2- They Invited You: Self confidence is very important.  If you doubt yourself on even getting the job before you walk in the door, then you probably don’t deserve it.  Remember you were invited to interview with them.  They must have liked something on your resume that got them interested.

3- They Are Human: If you can see the interviewer as just another person and realize everyone has their own strengths, weaknesses, wins, losses, history, and potential… you’ll put yourself in a good spot.  Mentally be prepared to be yourself and be as honest as you can.

Having confidence before you walk into your next job interview is crucial.  Employers do not want to hire anyone with doubts.  Hiring someone is a marriage.  Just like you wouldn’t want to marry someone on your wedding day that had doubts and didn’t view the future with confidence.  The employer doesn’t want to hire someone with similar feelings.

Obviously these are a few of our favorite mental roadblocks we recommend to observe, but you know yourself better than anyone else.  Show off your true talents, the same talents that landed you the interview in the first place!
