TV – 3 Tips on How Teens Can Find Summer Work

Ryan Naylor, CEO of LocalWork.com visited Fox 10 Phoenix today to share a few tips to help youth job seekers land that next job. Teenage unemployment rate begins to skyrocket this time of year.  The US Labor reports youth unemployment between the ages of 16-24.  For the past 2 summers, the average unemployment rate for this demographic starts in the 15-17% and has reached as high as 22% during mid-late summer.

Now is the perfect time to get that resume ready!
Tips to prepare for that first job.
1- Clean up that social media.  Rule of thumb: If you’re embarrassed to have your grandma see it, remove it.
2- Get active in the community.  Find some after school volunteering opportunities.  This shows great experience on your empty resume.
3- Create a new email address.  Your [email protected] email is not professional.
